Brite-SmartBritSMART Review: A nutraceutical blend that makes you smarter

Initial Thoughts:

Upon first glance, BriteSmart appears to be simply mediocre. The website is nothing special, the information provided is pretty basic and the BriteSmart product itself seems like like it’s no guarantee. According to BriteSmart’s website, BriteSmart is a blend of nutraceuticals (which is a fancy word for food with a function) that may strengthen your neurologic function and increase your energy and focus. It also is supposed to put you in a better mood and calm you down. But instead of immediately dismissing BriteSmart, we decided to at least give a chance.

Manufacturer and website:

BriteSmart is manufactured by BriteFocus, which is based out of Tusti, California, the US. We weren’t able to gather too much information about Brite Focus, although we did find a phone number, an email address and a website where we can reach them. Besides BriteSmart, the compnay Brite Focus also produces other supplements, including products called Brite Shield (seems marketed for adults and also those a bit older) and Brite Shot (definitely marketed for the young).

The BriteFocus website is pretty basic. While it is pretty well organized and easy to understand, you can tell it was made by someone with pretty basic web skills. It was easy, however, to figure out how to purchase BriteSmart and while Brite Focus claims to provide a 100% money guarantee, we weren’t too sure this was 100% true.

There are quite a few active and inactive ingredients in BriteSmart, and although we don’t have space to describe them all in detail, we’ll try to touch a bit on all of them.

The first ingredient in BriteSmart is Biotin (375 mcg) which is used to boost your mood and treat the symptoms of mild depression.

BriteSmart also contains Ceretrophin (1661 mg), which is Brite Focus’s proprietary blend. What that means is that it includes all the ingredients below, but doesn’t list the exact amount of each. Brite Focus has trademarked this although the patent is pending.

Included in this proprietary blend are the following ingredients:

Huperzine A is a Chinese herb which you can use to treat age-related mental decline. And it is thought to help someone create and retain memories more easily.

Rhodiola Rosea Extract is to give you a boost of quick but sustained energy.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine helps your body produce energy and made reduce the symptoms of dementia and depression.

Alpha Lipoic Acid lessens the severity of age-related memory loss and fatigue.

Vinpocetine comes from the periwinkle plant and is known to increase blood flow to the brain. By doing so, it is thought that vinpocetine helps you think more quickly and easily.

Before moving on, we have to say one thing. Brite Smart contains quite a few of ‘other’ ingredients. They include the following: silicon dioxide, shellac, vegetable magnesium stearate, calcium carbornate, croscarmellose sodium, vegetable stearic acid, microcrystalline cellulose, tricalcium phosphate, dextrine, dextrose monohydrate, FD &C Blue #2, aluminum lake, hydroxpropyl methylcellulose, soy lecithin, polyethylene glycol, and titanium dioxide. We do have to give them praise for at least reporting these ingredients. But it did make us wonder that if most of these ingredients don’t serve a purpose, why are they in there?

Even though we searched around a bit, it seems as though you can only buy Brite Smart through the Brite Focus website. One bottle contains 90 capsules, and the recommended dose is three capsules per day so one bottle should last you about a month.

If you sign up for the auto-ship option, which means you they send you a bottle each month automatically (warning, sometimes these are tricky to cancel), one bottle costs $59.95 (USD). But if you just buy one bottle regularly, it costs $69.95.

Pro’s and Con’s:

  • Brite Smart contains some pretty famous and well known ingredients.

  • There are many useless ingredients.
  • Whichever shipping option you choose, the product is pretty expensive.

BriteSmart may just be the perfect nootropic for you.  We appreciated how despite the somewhat high cost of one bottle, one could find coupons online to get a deal. However, we were a bit uncertain as to why BriteSmart’s formula needs so many extra ingredients. But overall BriteSmart appears to be a solid mind supplement.

Total Score: 82%

Price: $69.95
